Yesenia Rojas is an artist and DJ who uses sound to present ideas of borderless potential. Psychogeography and ritual informs their confrontational yet intuitive and experimental approach to the sonic landscape. Prioritizing immersion and surrender, she uses reimagintation and hybridity as critical and transformative tools in their work which regularly draws on intersections of power and struggle, memory, water, and the role of futurity in Caribbean diaspora and its relationship to its aesthetic and critical history.

Featured publications include DAZED, i-D magazine, FACT magazine, Complex, Resident Advisor, DJ MAG, and The Guardian, and has released original music on DJ Stingray 313’s Micron Audio label, activated spaces and performed at MoMA PS1, Sonic Acts Amsterdam, ICA Miami, Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, ICA Richmond, The Norton Museum of Art, AD&A at UC Santa Barbara and more.

In 2021, she composed the original score for Helen Peña’s acclaimed short film “When Angels Speak of Love'' premiering at Third Horizon Film Festival, Odú Film Festival, and The New Orleans film festival shorts programs, and contributed the sound design for Geovanna Gonzalez’s ”Lost Underground” screened at NADA Art Basel Miami. In 2022, she composed original music for the WNBA’s first ever short film “We Are the W”, and the Mare Nostrum Element's 2022 Emerging Choreographer’s Series Winner, Ke'Ron Wilson's work "in small steps (with courage)", as well as designed the sound for Performance Space New York’s 2022 Spring Gala: Angels in New York.

In 2023, her work was featured in multidisciplinary artist Caleb Jamel Brown’s acclaimed solo show “CrawlSpace” at the MOCA GA, Terrell Villiers’ show, “Emergent Seas” at Cromwell Place, UK and Jesus-Hilario Reyes’s solo show “Waywardly in Low Tide”at No. 9 Cork Street supported by FRIEZE in London, UK.
